CBOP, Sr.

CBOP, Sr. is a project of the Community Band of the Palouse. We are a small group of musicians, 4 to 10 members strong, who travel to area senior residences, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes in order to provide live music for America’s greatest generation. In addition to carefully selected musical favorites from the 1920s forward, we bring easy-to-hold rhythm instruments to share with our listeners so that they can join in the music making. Singing is always encouraged, as well!

Community Band of the Palouse was awarded a generous grant from Empire Health Foundation to develop the Music for Our Seniors Project. During 2015, CBOP, Sr. musicians provided 20 outreach concerts serving more than 300 residents in the Palouse area including Pullman, Moscow, Colfax, and Garfield. The program continues to reach area seniors with ongoing monthly concerts.

Residents and participants of Avalon Care Center, Bishop Place Enhanced Care, Whitman Senior Living, Circles of Caring Adult Day Services, Whitman Health and Rehab, The Courtyard Assisted Living, La Dow Court Assisted Living, Good Samaritan Village, Kindred Aspen Nursing, and Clark Place enjoyed playing rhythm instruments and singing along with the group. Caregiving staff was also encouraged to participate!
